Job Descriptions

All of our positions require the ability to work effectively in a team. Our field employees are required to have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and must be insurable by the Company’s vehicle insurance.

  • FOREMAN

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in asphalt and concrete patching on an assigned crew. Organizes work to get the most productivity out of the crew, oversees jobs to ensure the work is done properly, and performs all aspects of the job and trains others in all aspects as necessary. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Requires a minimum of one year experience supervising a work crew in asphalt and/or concrete work or a  related field. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. Must have a CDL Class A.
  • LEAD
    Assists Foreman in supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in asphalt and concrete patching on an assigned crew. Performs and trains crew in all aspects of patching. Assumes responsibility for the crew when the Foreman is not available. Requires a minimum of one year experience working on an asphalt and/or concrete crew. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. Must have a CDL Class A.
  • OPERATOR
    Operates one or more machines such as: backhoes, grinders, graders, leeboys, pavers, rollers, trucks, etc. Has a working knowledge of equipment operation for machines assigned and performs specified activities such as moving material, leveling, grading and paving. Operates equipment safely at all times. Performs non-operator, general labor work on the crew. Requires a minimum of one year experience working on an asphalt and/or concrete crew. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. Must have a CDL Class A to transport equipment from yard to jobsites.
  • DRIVER
    Drives dump trucks and other vehicles and performs general labor duties on asphalt and concrete patching crew. Practices safe driving skills and follows all vehicular safety regulations in all operating conditions. Uses a Thomas Guide to get to jobsites and material sources. Requires experience driving at the CDL Class A level and previous asphalt and/or concrete experience is preferred. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. Must have a CDL Class A.
  • LABORER
    Performs general laborer duties on asphalt and concrete patching crew. Sets up and breaks down jobsites. Dumps, shovels, levels, rakes, sweeps, rolls and inspects asphalt. Sets up, pours, and finishes concrete. Previous asphalt and/or concrete experience preferred. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. 
  • TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR (TCS)
    Supervises activities of flaggers on jobsites and performs flagging duties on asphalt and concrete patching crew. Determines traffic routing plans particular to jobsites and/or uses designated traffic routing plans to coordinate jobsite set up. Performs general laborer duties as needed. Requires a minimum of one year flagging experience on an asphalt and/or concrete crew. Must have a State of Washington Traffic Control Supervisor Certification and State of Washington Traffic Control card.
  • FLAGGER
    Performs flagging duties on asphalt and concrete patching crew. Sets up traffic control in jobsites and directs traffic appropriately. Performs general laborer duties as needed. Must have a State of Washington Traffic Control card.
  • MECHANIC

  • Repairs and maintains light to medium-duty trucks, machinery and equipment. Performs general and special maintenance in the shop and in the field. Completes LOF inspections and annual DOT inspections. Requires Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school or two years related experience. CDL Class A preferred. Day shift and swing shift.
  • MECHANIC HELPER

  • Assists mechanics in the shop. Washes and cleans trucks and equipment. Cleans, sweeps, picks up work area, loads and unloads trucks, and moves parts and equipment. Typically a part-time position in the afternoon, evenings and Saturdays.
